Thank you for checkING OUT THE SCOTTLISTENS WEBSITE.
When people call me these days one of the first questions they ask is "Are you accepting new clients?" The answer yes. And the reason I have room for new people is I am semi retired and I can expand my schedule as needed. And these days we all have needs and concerns. Let me first tell you how we do this counseling thing without going to the office.
Once Social and Physical Distancing was recommend I remained available for all counseling appointments using Tele-counseling. I have not had an office meeting since March 12, 2020. Almost everyone who had a scheduled counseling session kept their appointments. I have been doing tele-counseling for several years now working with folks from shore to shore. It is very simple. It may feel unusual at first but most folks adjust very quickly because we already know each other or it would be really helpful to talk to someone.
One question raised is how do you have couples meet with you? Actually they both sit on a couch or at a table where they are both on the screen. Or sometimes one may ask the other if they would like a solo appointment. Whatever works best for them.
The three options I offer to folks are as follows. I use FaceTime and ask you to call me from your device at our designated appointment time. The second is an app called ZOOM. It is very easy to use and free to download. If you choose to use ZOOM we will I will send you a link and you simply click on the link. And the third is simply by talking on the telephone. I am open to whatever method you are most comfortable with.
If you have insurance I do the filing. And I have a simple process for the co-pay. I am not so concerned about the fee details. I am concerned about you. These are very challenging and new times. We are in the preverbal boat together.
Once you schedule an appointment I will send you a reminder of when our appointment is and you can let me know how you would like to move forward. If you are thinking “Good grief this is just one more thing to deal with”, you are correct. I will tell you that some folks have found tele-counseling more convenient than coming to the office. As my Mom used to say, “Try it Scott, you may like it.”
Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.
